Found a female and a male on a southeast facing granite boulder that was decomposing. The female was more sociable than the male, hence the photo of only the female. The male was in full breeding colors! Bright blueish turquise belly and a bright orangish-red throat. Unfortunately, I couldn't convince him to come out of the crack in the rock so that I could get a decent photo of him.
The habitat was green for the most part. Interior Chaparral south facing hillside. Clear sunny day with a light breeze approx 2 mph from the north.
