Notes:
Only my second time to see a snake in the wild, and certainly my first venomous one. Beautiful animal that I believe to be a Trimeresurus stejnegeri from some searching for species endemic to the region with similar size and colouring, eager to have confirmed.

I judge it to be about 80 cm or a little longer.

The coiled image is the truest to its actual coloration. The more saturated images were shared to me the next day by our hiking guide, believe to be nearby but I cannot verify the exact location.

Initially spotted coiled on/under the rock while hiking at around 14:00. Was in the same spot and position on our return in the afternoon around 15:30.

I’m Irish and a little phobic about snakes, but seeing this animal in the wild was a real treat.
