Notes:
This western fence lizard was observed basking on a pile of pallets along with a two other individuals that fled when I approached. This one happened to stay still for me to photograph. It was a warm, sunnuy day, with temperatures in the high 60's when measured in degrees Fahrenheit.

This is the only member of the genus Sceloporus that occurs on the valley floor in Yolo county. Sceloporus graciosus gracilis occurs on the western edge of the Yolo county, and looks superficially similar, but this individual lacks a black bar on each shoulder as well as a rusty color behind the front legs, both of which S. graciosus usually posseses. The lack of the black bar and the geographic area points to this individual being a western fence lizard.
