Called to residence with report of a snake near a Koi pond. Upon arrival, found a Midland Water Snake next to Koi pond. Captured snake and placed in transport container. Exam revealed, traumatic amputation of distal end of tail. The homeowner advised, the amputation of the tail was caused by pest control company trying to pull the snake out of hole.eyes clear and tracked movement with each eye. No signs of pre-shed. No signs of any other illness or injury..Length is 33 inches, weight 25.4 oz. Snake was treated with antibiotic ointment on injured tail. Snake was transported to protected area and released without incident.
