Notes:
Population displays a high degree of polymorphism. Snake population density is very high. Photos show just 3 of many different phenotypes present at this location. Photos are color accurate and represent what the snakes actually look like. Many different shades of orange, yellow, green, blue, and B&W individuals are present in the population as well as laterally striped individuals. Also observed many unhealthy emaciated snakes and have observed some of those with tape worms partially hanging out of their cloaca's. Individuals in this area feed heavily on poisonous Taricha granulosa which is known to be an intermediate host for tape worms. Crows in the area have been observed becoming ill or dying after eating these snakes.
