Yes, there IS an anole in the photograph. It's at the base of the right side of the rightmost tree in the center of the photograph, on the ground, facing left, with its head behind the tree. It had run across the path in front of me and stopped where I photographed it. It then hid under the pine needles and leaf litter at the base of the tree. I tried digging it out but couldn't find it.
